The far-right wing nuts are always crying about "socialized medicine", but this is nothing but a scare tactic, and I suspect that most of them know it. What is health insurance but socialized medicine: People band together, pool their resources, and pay a company to find a reason not to pay their claims when they accidentally get sick and have one.
About 30 years ago, I worked for a radio station where the program director was even further left than I was. This is, by the way, the ONLY radio station I ever worked at where I think there were more liberals than conservatives. The chief engineer was a super-conservative (Goldwater type) Republican. The program director said that the engineer was really the most liberal guy in the place and, talking to him, I came to believe that this was the case. He preferred some methods that I didn't, but all three of us wanted the same thing for the country.
That was back in the day before clowns like Karl Rove thought it would expeditious to accuse your opponent of being weak on whatever your weak point was.
I just want my country back.
