So Maybe You Can "Register" an Underage Voter

But then what? The GOP Sound Machine (Limburger, O'Liely, and the rest of the gang) have been making a big deal out of this "problem". But it's not much of a problem. It's just part of the tpyical sleight-of-hand the GOP likes to employ.

What happens when you show up at a polling place? I can't speak for the rest of the country, but as a poll worker in Ohio I know that the first thing we'll do is ask for your identification. For most people, that's a driver's license. The GOP Sound Machine likes to talk about ACORN and "registered" 13-year-old voters. Apparently a few underage "voters" have been registered here and there. If they show up to vote, will they have a driver's license? Without ID, they won't be allowed to vote.

For the GOP, the party of widespread voter fraud in Florida (2000) and Ohio (2004) to whine about the occasional underage registration seems to be a fine example of the "pot calling the kettle black".
